The Hendricks County Solid
Waste Management District
is pleased to announce the
opening of a new Yard
Waste Recycling Center in
Plainfield. The facility
is located at 7020 South
County Road 875 East in
Plainfield. The center
will be opening on Monday,
May 5th at
7am.
The District and the Town
of Plainfield have
partnered together to make
the new location available
to residents of the
county. The property on
which the Yard Waste
Recycling Center is
located is owned by the
Town of Plainfield. The
Town will utilize the
center to recycle organic
materials its Department
of Public Works generates
during its normal
operations. In return for
use of the property, the
Hendricks County Solid
Waste District staffs,
operates and maintains the
facility.
A Yard Waste Recycling
Center was previously
located at 501 North Vine
Street in Plainfield.
That location was closed
in July of 2007 to make
way for an extension of
the Town’s trail system.
The Hendricks County Solid
Waste Management District
also operates Yard Waste
Recycling Centers in
Danville and Brownsburg.
The centers serve to
collect organic wastes
(brush, grass clippings,
leaves, firewood, etc.)
generated by Hendricks
County residents;
businesses are not allowed
to utilize the centers.
Fees based on the amount
of yard waste to be
recycled are assessed.
All of the Centers are
open from 7am to 5pm on
Fridays and Saturdays.
Each location is also open
one day during the week
(Plainfield—Monday,
Brownsburg—Tuesday,
Danville—Wednesday).
The Yard Waste Recycling
Centers are open from
April through November
each year. In addition,
the sites are made
available from the latter
part of December through
the middle of January for
residents to recycle
Christmas Trees.

hours, locations or
