The Avon Chamber of Commerce
sponsored the first Hendricks County Rib-Fest on July 2,
2005 at the Was hington
Township Park in Avon. The event was a huge
success! The event features live entertainment
and plenty of family friendly activities and ends
with a firework display.
Local restaurants compete for bragging rights of
"best ribs" & "best sauce", judge by both the crowd
and a panel of celebrity judges. The event was well attended with a crowd of 5000, so
of course it is now an annual community event!
This
year’s Rib-Fest will be held June 28, 2008
5:00pm-10:00pm at the Avon Washington Township
Park. Once again, Hendricks Regional Health has partnered with
the Avon Chamber of Commerce by becoming a Full Slab
sponsor!
This
year vendors/competitors will be allowed to sell
their food to the public and winners will receive
prize plaques at the end of the evening, as well as
bragging rights that they had the best BBQ in
Hendricks County within their respective category as
a winner of the 2008 Hendricks County Rib-Fest.
Vendors will be judged by a celebrity panel of
judges as well as by
each ticket purchaser, who will also receive a
ballot for a crowd favorite vote.

Rib-Fest will feature live entertainment
and
end with fireworks.
The Washington
Township Fire Department Safety Trailer along with other family
friendly activities will be present at the event.
